Cogitare's Core Principles
Cogitare is underpinned by the following core principles which
are applied to all decisions and recommendations:
- An understanding of the "bigger picture" to ensure that, however large
or small the problem, the solution influences the final outcome in the optimal
manner (the idea of a cog within a mechanism influencing the movement
of a bigger wheel). This understanding enables identification of elements
preventing successful project implementation;
- Cogitare believes in long-term relationships with clients based on helping
clients achieve long-term solutions. Such solutions often involve change,
and although more difficult to implement than the status quo in the short
term, if well thought out and implemented, change facilitates operations
in the long-term. Where there is a difference of opinions Cogitare regards
it essential to determine the reasons behind the difference, to identify
and resolve knowledge gaps, and develop a consensus, to ensure a more successful,
knowledgeable, long-term solution;
- When working for government organisations, Cogitare outputs are directed
at maximising societal benefits. Cogitare will assist managers to take decisions
and implement strategies which lead towards maximising long-term societal
benefits relative to costs;
- When working for the private sector, Cogitare outputs are based on the
same principles but are directed at maximising long-term Client profits
as opposed to societal benefits.
